Hven offers good food quality and new exiting flavours to taste. When you visit Hven, do therefore not miss out on all the locally produced food and drinks served at many of the island’s charming restaurants.
Thanks to the favorable weather conditions Hven can boast of having Europe’s northernmost durum wheat fields, which turns into hand painted durum flour used for delicious cakes, and bread etc made from own bakery. Rapeseed oil and homemade ice cream are other products manufactured locally on the island. Hven is also the “whiskey mecca” of Skåne with its unique whiskey distillery producing organic spirits and offerering exciting guided tours and whiskey tastings.
Hvens small farm shops and art shops are certainly worth a visit in search of specialties and quirky finds. Inhale the atmosphere in Kyrkbacken habour over a smoked fish from the smokehouse. Conventional necessities can be purchased at the island’s only supermarket Möllebacken Livs, centrally located on the island.
On Ventavlan you can see which companies on the island that are open on the day you visit Hven (only in Swedish, sorry). If there are places that have not indicated that they are open when you visit island, it is recommended that you contact the place directly to obtain their opening hours.
SPIRIT OF HVEN, BACKAFALLSBYN
The island’s award winning whiskey distillery. Here you will find home-produced whiskey, gin and vodka as well as the largest selection of spirits and whiskeys from around the world in the restaurant’s fine bar. The distillery has a visitor center with shop, tours and whiskey tastings.
HÄLSA FRÅN HVEN
In the middle of the island you will find Hvens local mini-spa, massage and natural pharmacy. Visit the store and spoil yourself with products made of tea and herbs from Hven, ointments, soaps, shampoos and much more within organic body care. It also offers massage therapy and natural cosmetic facial.
Paviljong 1916 situated at the habour of Bäckviken is a nice little decor shop for heart and soul, where you can find both new and old things for you and your to your accommodation. The shop is an obvious visit before you jump on board the ferry after a great day on Hven.
The kiosk is located, as the name suggests, in Kyrkbacken habour. Here you can buy ice cream, candy, sausages, bread etc. It also serves as bicycle rental and a small grocery store. Outside there are seats for you to take a rest and enjoy the habour atmosphere. Phone: +46 (0) 418 720 82
SMOKE HOUSE IN KYRKBACKEN – FISKEBODEN

TUNA BODEN – HVENS WEAVING SHOP
